We can make a difference
We love to see our community strengthen as people draw together to provide for our local families in need.
This can be for example by providing not only furniture and white goods but toys and clothes to a family who has lost everything in a house fire and are waiting for the insurance compensation to come through.
It may be that a young person rebuilding their life following homelessness now has a job and the first salary will pay the rent and bills but only enough for either a bed, or a fridge, or a cooker – not all 3. It can take many months to save up enough to replace each item, and can be very demoralising.
Families coming out of a Women’s refuge have often come from nicely furnished homes and so to start from scratch can be an extra challenge in the fight to not return to the past.
Through the many kind donations from our local community, Re-Loved is able to take the pressure off of having to find the money to replace everything immediately and provide enough to use until savings enable you to choose.
We are excited to be able to get alongside those who have barriers to work. We aim to find a place and purpose for each person, and if appropriate help them back into the workplace by supporting them in looking for and applying for jobs, compiling and printing off CVs, sourcing outfits for interview, accompanying them to appointments and providing references.
If you or anyone you know needs help with provision or replacement of furniture or household items, or would like to volunteer, please contact us
and we will do our utmost to help.
